KIIS FM logo is without question one of the most memorable and recognized jingle logo melodies of all time. The popular three note logo which came out from the original PAMS-produced jingles for WLS Chicago, is now heard across all formats, across all stations around the world.

Because of its popularity , we have unconsciously typified that every jingle company should produce its clients at least one package of KIIS-logoed jingles. Brandy, however, was an exception. And we stand corrected when we reviewed its newest Q Music jingle package bore the three note logo.

Brandy, since it was known, has always had a knack for producing creative but original imaging compositions. I have to say, that from its first Q Music package to the latest, it never failed to bring new excitement, innovating jingle imaging the rest of the world has never heard of before.

The latest Q package, which we unintentionally perceived as using a KIIS FM logo, was in fact a breakthrough and was never designed to sound like such. To edify this correction, here’s a side by side comparison of the KIIS FM logo and the new Q Music Q Is Good For You logo.

We hear the guy in countless stations in America. No doubt Jeff Berlin, signature station voice of Kiss 108 Boston, continues to be one of the most sought after voices for radio station imaging today. Two things come to mind when that distinctive voice comes out of the speakers — effective and engaging.

During the previous years, there were heavy talks about the obsoleteness of big deep voices and the taking over of boy-next-door type of voice imaging. Jeff Berlin, however, pulled it off by combining both a voice-of-God and high-schooler type of voiceover.

Effective — because no matter what format his voice is in, he is believable. His voice does not just really rely on compression and heavy processing, every word that comes out is like shotgun bullet. It slays.

Engaging – because whatever voice requirement the production needs, Jeff Berlin still sounds so natural.

ReelWorld One CHR dishes out fresh tracks for March 2008. For its core jingles, two new cuts were added, NewsBreaker, a pulsing high energy breaking news theme and Obsidian, a mid tempo guitar and drum riser theme, both complete with logo, rapidfire, basic, production bed and ramp mixouts.

10 new cuts are added to the produced IDs folder, while the beatmixes folder is stuffed with five smashing beatmix sample hits Like You’ll Never See Me Again by Alicia Keys, No Air by Jordin Sparks, See You Again by Miley Cyrus, Sensual Seductin by Snoop Dogg and Whatever It Takes by Lifehouse.

A big thanks and congratulations to Chris Stevens and the creative team at LITEHouse Studios (www.litehousestudios.com) for customizing the WLIT logo for ‘the new’ Pennine FM in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England. Now, we all know for a fact, that LITEHouse Studios’ jingle package was dummied only WLIT. But I’d like to commend LITEHouse for doing such a great job in fitting the words “The New Pennine FM” into the WLIT logo.

Jam Creative Productions has just added a new jingle package to its portfolio – the Fresh NY package created for WWFS Fresh 102.7 New York. The audio production quality as expected is top notch. However, there is a new vocal star in this package. Not to mention, a very catchy logo melody. I especially like the arrangement and overall feel of the Fresh 102.7 package because it speaks for the station’s personality.
